| | | Harry Potter will not die James Krasner, professor of English and British Victorian literature at the University of New Hampshire says that in the end, Harry will survive, and that by threatening to kill of Potter, Rowling is just trying to remind fans that the wizard is her creation and thus ultimately her possession. Quote:
“There's no way Harry will die. Harry won't die largely because these are comic stories, like Dickens' novels, in which good has to win,” he said.
Quote:
She’s reminding us that Harry is her character, not ours; she can kill him if she wants to.
Quote:
“Lord Voldemort has to die. And Snape, who is really fighting for good despite all appearances, will likely die. Neville Longbottom is really the chosen one, so I suspect he'll die,” he said.

No way will Harry die. JK didn't say he WILL die, just that she was thinking about it. Big difference. I think it's mostly hype. I didn't stand in line for any of the books yet, but I will be for this one!! (so it has worked for me) But I still don't think Harry will die.
Just my $0.02.

Im with Jo if she wants to finish Harry off. In this way, no other person will be able to carry on with Harry's life

WELL DUH.
Of course Voldemort will die, but whether or not Harry will perish during the seventh book is highly debatable. I mean, he could die while vanquishing ol' Voldie, or he could die at a very old age of something natural, like cardiac arrest or some magical disease. Either way, Harry will die eventually.

who's to say that Harry won't die moments after he destroys the Dark Lord? Good will still win, and Harry would be dead. sounds like a good plan, but whatever Jo decides to do is up to her, and we have no control outside of fanfiction with her characters. though I am still upset over Dumbledore's death...

Something that also pisses me off is that JKR has all the power over Harry and we cant do anything about it.

That's very interesting...but I do believe that Harry will not die. After all, why would the whole series be there if it was all for nothing, anyways?

I Really Really do hope that Harry doesn't die in the last book of the series JK Rowling writes. It would be really sad if she did.
