James Krasner, professor of English and British Victorian literature at the University of New Hampshire says that in the end, Harry will survive, and that by threatening to kill of Potter, Rowling is just trying to remind fans that the wizard is her creation and thus ultimately her possession. Well, the story has been changing into a darker type. It's not like normal stories where good wins, but I dunno. I think harry'll die. Plus, JK has said that there won't be anymore books. Maybe he does die. When I saw that title I thought it was official. *is freaked out*

Very interesting. I understand that it is her creation and she is trying to show us that it's ultimately her decision. Though I think Harry could die, I think, for right now, anyway, that he won't. But, I think that if he was to die, that he would obviously bring Voldemort with him and make it clear that in the end, good conquers evil. I think Snape will die, though I'm debating whether or not he's good or just an opportunist, and I don't think Neville is the Chosen One.

I agree. I think Harry, Ron, Hermione and Ginny will all live. I feel some slight worry occasionally but it really isn't going to happen. They are not going to die and if you read most of her interviews, it becomes obvious after a while.
I find his thinking faulty when it comes to Neville being the real chosen one. People need to get over that. Neville may be important but he's not the real chosen one. He may die though. He's definitely on the list way up there in my opinion.

*squee Nabs news* I used to think the same Lissy... but now I feel that it is not all made out to be a children's book (as James mentions), but it's not really a childrens book now is it? It's really as dark story as Jo has told us all before.
I don't think that she would have Harry kept alive if it were to make the story less of a climax. It needs to be done right... we all know how Jo is set on having this perfect! If it has Harry die in order for the ending to be set properly then so be it!
Plus I also want to see Dan's acting should he die! That would be so sad but incredibily interesting!

I disagree with this guy. HP books aren`t "comic", there`s nothing similar with Dickens novels, and that`s just his thoughts, which I don`t think ok. He`s a professor, but doesn`t know much about literature, really.  Sure, Jo may do with Harry everything, she`s the "driver"!
