MIAMI, Jan. 26 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Royal Caribbean International once again is offering guests the opportunity to explore beautiful and historic regions of Spain, France and England by land as well as by sea. With three ships sailing in Europe in summer 2004, Royal Caribbean is continuing its popular European cruisetour program, first introduced last year, which allows guests to add a multi-day land vacation package.
"A Royal Caribbean cruisetour is a fantastic way to experience Europe," said Craig Milan, president of Royal Caribbean International's cruisetour division. "Our cruisetours remove the hassles of travel, leaving time for guests to enjoy the attractions, customs and cultures of the outstanding destinations they visit."
Royal Caribbean is offering a total of four land packages to pair with its European cruises -- two to Spain, one to London and Paris, and one to the English countryside, tracing the steps of the famed Harry Potter from "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone®."
All cruisetours are designed to give guests a blend of structured activities and free time, ensuring they experience the cultural highlights of each city, yet still have time to fulfill other personal interests. Each of the four cruisetours is escorted by a knowledgeable, local Tour Director during the land portion. Tour Directors not only provide historical and expert commentary, they also serve as personal concierges, assisting with anything from dinner reservations to museum or show tickets.
Royal Caribbean cruisetours include at least two meals each full day of the tour, as well as visits to top historic and cultural attractions such as Madrid's Prado museum and the Tower of London. In addition, the line has selected five-star accommodations in city centers, ensuring guests have a convenient base for explorations during their free time.
Guests on seven-night Splendour of the Seas Mediterranean cruises can take the three-night Madrid & Barcelona land tour or an extended five-night tour that also includes a visit to Seville, while guests on Brilliance of the Seas 12-night Mediterranean cruises can extend their vacations with the three-night Madrid & Barcelona tour.
On either land tour, guests will have a chance to explore the medieval town of Toledo, visit Barcelona's famed unfinished cathedral, the Sagrada Familia, and walk through Madrid's historic plazas. Ten- and 12-night cruisetours with Splendour of the Seas start at $2,199 and $3,249 per person, double occupancy. Fifteen-night cruisetours with Brilliance of the Seas start at $3,399 per person, double occupancy.
Guests on Northern European cruises will enjoy Royal Caribbean's newest ship, Jewel of the Seas, which debuts in April, as well as a choice between the four-night London & Paris land tour or the four-night "Magical Tour of England." Both options are paired with Jewel's 12-night Scandinavia/Russia itineraries.
The London & Paris cruisetour is available pre- or post-cruise May 12 to Aug. 20, 2004. The experience begins in London with a half-day sightseeing tour and lunch at a traditional English pub. After another full day in London, including a tour of the famed Tower of London, guests catch the Eurostar for a train ride through the Chunnel to Paris. During their two-day stay in Paris, guests enjoy two half-day city tours as well as plenty of free time for shopping and sightseeing.
The "Magical Tour of England" visits sites featured in the hit movies based on the Harry Potter® novels* including Alnwick Castle, the sight of the broomstick lessons and quidditch games; the Norman Cathedral in Durham, which served as a backdrop for classroom scenes; and Goathland Station, used in the film to depict Hogsmead Station, where Harry arrives for school. "The Magical Tour of England" is offered post-cruise on Jewel's July 3, July 15 and Aug. 8 sail dates.
Prices start at $4,199 per person, double occupancy for the London & Paris cruisetour and $4,399 per person, double occupancy for the "Magical Tour of England" cruisetour.
Royal Caribbean International is a global cruise brand currently with 18 ships in service, and two more under construction or on firm order.
