Harry Potter series actress Emma Thompson receives British Damehood honor Oscar-winning actress and Harry Potter series alum Emma Thompson (Professor Trelawney) was honored this week with an official Damehood from the British Monarchy, thus now making her Dame Emma Thompson. She was honored for her contribution to theatre and film arts. Thompson attended the investiture ceremony and was anointed her Damehood by Prince William of the UK.
