| | |  Harry Potter printers a "statutory nuisance"
Residents who leave near the Harry Potter printers in Bungay have started a petition due to the noise coming from the place, which environmental health officers say is a "statutory nuisance". It was said that the interference with peace and quiet was unreasonable, although the cause of the noise is unidentified. Acoustic engineers were hired to try and find a source, but found none. Quote:
Karen Kennedy, who has organised the petition, said the council needed to do more.
She said: "They have not employed any qualified acoustic consultants themselves. The acoustic consultant is employed by Clays. They are saying the new machinery isn't causing the noise nuisance, but it wasn't there before the new machinery."

This seems foolish. I mean, I don't live next to anything that makes a great deal of noise {except a rather busy main street in our town}, but it doesn't seem like something I'd write a petition about. You live in the world, with PEOPLE ... you need to deal with a little noise every now and again. And besides, the massive printing won't continue on forever. Once the initial major demand for the book has subsided, normal, slower printing will start again. | |

it must have been REALLY quiet before for them to be complaining and petitioning about a bit of noise; that or it's a very LOUD noise. Either way, it's obvious they have nothing better to do than complain

That's stupid - seems like people have to much time on their hands.
I mean, I have neighbours with a demon in dog form (once he starts barking with his shrill, penetrating bark, he barely stops, and the neighbours only say 'shut up, Rocky!', no consequence to it other than that!), but I'm going going around my neighbourhood petitioning against it. We just put up with it (and they got a puppy and its starting to be as bad barking-wise sometimes....)
Sheesh, some people... just let it go, nearby residents, it's HARRY POTTER! C'mon! It's a big world full of noise, you can't just attempt to get rid of it...

"statutory nuisance" ?? right... I agree with Libbi_Granger it can't of been that bad a noise if it's only a printing place cause they arn't that loud, they should really just deal with it, it was there choice to move near it they are going to have to deal lol
