| | |  Harry Potter novels focus more on healthcare than realized
Do you remember all of those trips that Harry, Ron, and Hermione made to the Hospital Wing throughout the books? And what about St. Mungo's? A new article seems pretty convinced that J.K. Rowling spent more time mentioning healthcare than we realized.
A special part of the article, titled "Heroes," had this to say: Quote:
As many of us know, the struggle of living can leave visible and indelible signs on a body. Even on that of a wizard. Harry's scar marks him as the "boy who lived" and he takes a certain amount of pride in the marks left from his sadistic detentions with Professor Umbridge. Professors Moody and Dumbledore both display the physical signs of their battles against evil forces. Moody even wears a prosthetic leg and eye, so we can assume that there are no magical cures for extreme bodily damage or loss of limb.

That's neat to think about - you don't really notice that kind of reoccuring thing until it's mentioned, but it's true!! I suppose that would be expected though, considering the books are about death and life and danger and how one reacts when dealing with all of those things. | |
