'Harry Potter and the Cursed Child' celebrates 2nd anniversary with new tickets sales
 

To celebrate the two-year anniversary since the opening of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child at London's Palace Theatre, the production announced that more tickets will be sold for spring 2019, for the period of 10 April – 28 July 2019.

Tickets for the new set of dates will go on sale starting 18 September 2018, at 11 GMT (6AM EST; 3AM PST). Highlights of the opening night two years ago, featuring author J.K. Rowling, can be watched below.

Today, 30 July 2018, on the eve of Harry Potter’s birthday, the anniversary of the world premiere and the start of the third year for the London Production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child at the Palace Theatre, the Producers announce further tickets to be released for sale on 18 September 2018, at 11 GMT, for performances from 10 April – 28 July 2019. Tickets are priced from £15 per part and for every performance there are over 300 tickets at £20 or less per part.

It's thrilling that we can continue to tell Harry's story in London, New York, Australia, and beyond, and look forward to welcoming audiences from across the globe.”

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, one play presented in two parts, is the eighth story in the Harry Potter series and the first official Harry Potter story to be presented on stage. The critically acclaimed production received its world premiere in July 2016 at the Palace Theatre in London and is now also playing at the Lyric Theatre on Broadway, with an Australian production beginning performances at Melbourne’s Princess Theatre on 16 January 2019. A further North American production will open in San Francisco at the Curran in Autumn 2019 and, in spring 2020, a German language version of the play – marking its first non-English production - will open at the Mehr! Theater am Großmarkt in Hamburg, Germany.

Since its premiere, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has won twenty-four major British theatre awards including the Evening Standard Best Play Award as well as a record-breaking nine Olivier Awards - including Best New Play and Best Director - the most awarded production in the history of the Oliviers. The Broadway production has subsequently won twenty-five major Broadway accolades, including five Drama Desk Award awards, six Outer Critics Circle awards and six Tony awards, also including Best Play and Best Director.

Based on an original new story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is a new play by Jack Thorne, directed by John Tiffany with movement by Steven Hoggett, set by Christine Jones, costumes by Katrina Lindsay, music & arrangements by Imogen Heap, lighting by Neil Austin, sound by Gareth Fry, illusions & magic by Jamie Harrison, music supervision & arrangements by Martin Lowe and casting by Julia Horan.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is produced by Sonia Friedman Productions, Colin Callender and Harry Potter Theatrical Productions.

The West End cast is led by Jamie Ballard who plays Harry Potter, Susie Trayling who plays Ginny Potter and Joe-Idris Roberts who plays their son, Albus Potter. Thomas Aldridge plays Ron Weasley with Franc Ashman who plays Hermione Granger and Helen Aluko as their daughter Rose Granger Weasley. Playing Draco Malfoy is James Howard with Jonathan Case as his son Scorpius Malfoy.

They are joined by cast members Rosemary Annabella Nkrumah, David Annen, Jordan Bamford, Emma Bown, Adrian Christopher, Craig Connolly, Danny Dalton, Leah Haile, April Hughes, Martin Johnston, Gareth Kennerley, Susan Lawson-Reynolds, Barry McCarthy, Sandy McDade, James McGregor, Ryan J Mackay, Annette McLaughlin, David Mara, Dylan Mason, Tom Peters, James Phoon, Eve Ponsonby, Kate Russell-Smith, Sinéad Sharkey, Amarah-Jae St. Aubyn, Mark Theodore and Joshua Wyatt who complete the 42-strong company playing a variety of characters, including seven children who will alternate two roles.

The regular performance schedule is as follows - Monday – no performance, Tuesday – no performance, Wednesday - 2pm Part One & 7.30pm Part Two, Thursday – 7.30pm Part One, Friday – 7.30pm Part Two, Saturday – 2pm Part One & 7.30pm Part Two, Sunday – 1pm Part One & 6.30pm Part Two.

Tickets are now on sale for the Autism Friendly/Relaxed Performance of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child on Thursday 23 August 2018 (Part One) and Friday 24 August 2018 (Part Two). Hosted in collaboration with The National Autistic Society, the performance will be specially adapted for autistic patrons and their families. A further set of access performances are also announced today. On Saturday 4 May 2019 both the matinee (Part One) and evening performance (Part Two) will be audio described and on Saturday 11 May 2019 the matinee (Part One) and evening performance (Part Two) will be captioned.
