A poll has recently been conducted by LOVEFiLM.com, in order to discover which is Britain’s favorite movie adaptation of a children’s book. Turns out the Harry Potter series came in second, next to the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. After polling 1000 members, the DVD rental website announced the following list: Quote:
1. The Lord of the Rings Trilogy (2001 onwards), J.R.R. Tolkien
2. Harry Potter series (2001 onwards) J.K. Rowling
3. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (1971/2005), Roald Dahl
4. The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe (2005), C.S.Lewis
5. The Wizard of Oz (1939), L. Frank Baum

Why on Earth is LotR in this list? I wouldn't consider it a children's story at all...

wow! I;ve read every book series except the 7th and the 8th on that list...:/ huzzah for HP!!! I've seen LoTR, haven't read it...people say the books are better than the movie...

I'm definitely not surprised. The books are amazing and that makes the movies amazing, even if the movies are not nearly as amazing as the books are. And I'm very pleased to see LotR at number 1! | |
