| | | Harry Potter absent on New York Times Best-Seller list The New York Times reports that, as of its latest issue, Harry Potter has entirely fallen from its best-seller list. Sorceror's Stone first appeared on the list on December 27th 1998 at the bottom of the hardcover fiction section. Within a year, Harry Potter held the top 3 spots. That was when a separate list, for children's books, was created. Furthermore, Harry Potter was later relegated to a series chart, which tracked novels not as individuals, but as compilations. |

Eh, it's not really a big deal. When the books came out, people rushed to buy them since they were new. But now the books aren't really new, so people aren't running to the store to buy them. It's just part of the life of a book, lol. It doesn't mean people don't like Harry Potter anymore, it just means a lot of people already have the books and don't need to buy more copies. It's still the best series, in my opinion, and that's all that matters to me.

That's pure rubbish. Absolute rubbish.

We spent time here. We made friends here. That's a part of us.
Cause Hogwarts is bigger than any of us, of any of it's founders,
and it's going to be around long after we're gone.
Maybe we'll see our kids come here one day.
That's the thing about Hogwarts.
No matter how long you're away from it, there's always a way back. |

It was bound to happen at one point. You know what they say, it was good while it lasted. Now let's wait for another J.K. book to make the list again :]

| I'm not surprised it fell off the list - it's covering what's been selling the most RECENTLY, and Harry Potter's last book came out in July. People like, ran to get their copy around then. It's been 9 months so no surprise really.
Heck, the entire series is #1 on my list and if it's like that for all of us then the NYT list doesn't matter

That seems totally unbelievable, but it is real. I can see why Harry Potter isn't up there.

well, could be a sign of things to come.
maybe instead of the article being so smug about it, they should start shaking in their boots. it means that the book industry will be in for a rather long lean season until the next hot shot author makes regular folks care about reading again.

Considering how many of Stephen King's books have been on the NYT best sellers list, did they make a seperate list for him too?! LOL
