| | |  Harry & the Potters 'not obsessive'
Harry and the Potters, a rock group who sing songs about the popular Potter series, have said in a recent interview that they're 'not obsessive' fans of the franchise. Quote:
Paul says. "We read the books once and this idea struck us, so we read the books again to write our songs."
"We're interested in bringing our own personality to this," Paul says. "The allure of [forming a Harry Potter band] is that it's a good opportunity to reach young people and impart our sensibilities onto them. Our music is nothing like what a kid will hear on the radio or on MTV."
The publication tried to get Scholastic's opinion on the band but they didn't return the calls by the deadline.
Warner Brothers Entertainment said in a statement, "We value our intellectual property rights and protect them. That said, it is our policy to not discuss specific issues of this nature in the public domain."
US Summer tour dates, for Harry and the Potters, can be viewed here.
The band are working on a third album which will feature mostly dance music and is intended to be like 'the soundtrack to a crazy night in the Gryffindor common room.'

If they are not (under WB record label) they might be in trouble ... As a matter of fact, I didn´t even know they had published any albums.
Reminds me of the Danish band Disneyland After Dark (they were not singing about Mickey Mouse or anything, though). They had to change their name into D.A.D., because Disney company, err ... didn´t like them? All the old fans know what D.A.D. means, so the Danish boys won that one, I guess

I don't think they are. I think the statement just meant that they don't discuss sungular matters such as that, in the media. Most likely because they may receive vicious backlash.
But yeah they've produced two albums and are making another so you'd have though WB would've done something by now if they were that bothered about them.

I didn't even know that they had a band that sung about Harry Potter. Lol. How cool. I wouldn't mind listening to a couple of their songs. They should have them be on the Harry Potter Sound Tracks for some of the movies. Or they could sing as the Weird Sisters, but I guess that role has already been taken up. Oh well. Nice idea though.
