Today, Saturday July 31, marks the birthday of that lightning-bolt scarred wizard we all have grown to love over the years. From discovering that he was a wizard to defeating the Dark Lord, we have travelled along side Harry since we picked up the books. Because of him, millions continue to turn off their television screens and pick up the books that have taken us on a magical journey we will never forget.
Harry Potter has made a huge impact on our lives. Whether you have been there since day one or have just jumped on board the Hogwarts Express, we all can see just how much of an impact he has made. Even though we live in a world where new technology is all around us, the books all about our favourite wizard have increased reading interest across the globe for both children and adults alike. No matter where we come from or what we look like, Harry has brought us all together. These are just a few of the many things he has done for us since
Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone was published back in 1997.
So here we join together to celebrate the 30th birthday of Harry Potter today. While it may be hard to imagine him all grown up now, we all know that he has achieved a lot – both in his world and ours – since he was that little boy who lived in the cupboard under the stairs. We may not be able to survive another year at Hogwarts or rid the world of evil just like Harry did, but we can all continue the journey that we are on and live the magic.
