| | |  Half-Blood Prince video game release date pushed back
Electronic Arts have today announced in a press release that the Half-Blood Prince video game will be pushed back to coincide with the opening of the sixth film. No specific date has yet been revealed. Quote:
“We have enjoyed a wonderful partnership with EA in collaborating on the videogames for all of the Harry Potter films,” said Harry Potter film Producer David Heyman. “The visual look of the game for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is incredibly authentic to the film and will provide a truly compelling experience for everyone who plays.”

Ah that sucks. But if they're trying to get more money for the movie, they're not going to miss out on cashing in on the games by releasing them too early.
Still looking forward to playing HP in the Wii! Even if I do have to wait aaaages to get it.

I guess it makes sense to release it near to the film...still I wanted it for christmas on PS2... *grumble*
Does anyone know what the cover will be like?
Because my mum got one of her christmas catalogues in the post the other day,and I looked through it.
It had the HBP game as released in NOV 2008 (which we know it isn't now),and the picture they used for it was that one of the DD and Harry sillouettes in the cave..with the green background.
I thought that had been proved as a fake when it was posted as an official poster.
*Is confused again*

ok releasing the film in summer i have accepted, but why do they need to change the date of the game, we all know the story from reading the 6th book and they will probably make more money releasing it in november because paople will buy it as christmas presents as well as all the people who love harry potter who would have bought it anyway. now there is nothing to look forward to. when they took the film away we still had the game to look forward to but now they have totally disappointed everyone once again by postponing the game. i have totally lost all respect for warner brother that i had.

ya know what have ya little moans you lot. it was kinda obvious that the game would be pushed back to because of the clips that are in the game play from the actual movie. they havent released a new full trailer yet which they probably wont until after chrimbo now, theres nowt anyone can do not all the whinging in the world will make em change their mind. but ya know what warner bros are a bunch of money grabbing gits they dont give a toss about the fans, heehee and you know what that fan report on the leaky cauldron basically tells you everything about the movie so i dont see the point in going to see it now. no dumbledore funeral whats that about. oh theres another reason wich im really annoyed about. the fifth films final battle was totally to short and a waste of time. but guess what you guys.THEY HAVE CUT THE BATTLE AT THE END OF THE HALF BLOOD PRINCE. warners aint getting my money next summer ill just wait till it comes out on dvd and just borrow it off a mate. heehee i so hope there cash cow for next summer totally flops thatll teach em to annoy the fans. there pathetic.

I'm not surprised, although I was hoping they wouldn't reach this decision just because WB decided to cancel Christmas. They jump, everyone else jumps. Shouldn't be like that.
However, this situation shines favorably on me because my PS2 recently died and so I wouldn't have been able to play it regardless. So I now have ample time to get another PS2 and I can focus on something else before having to worry about that, like the Olympic weight set I've been wanting for SO many years. So hurray for me, I save $130 (PS2) and $40 (game) and $12.00 (Movie) = $182 this year! *Blows raspberry at WB*
