As we reported earlier this month, the release date of Half-Blood Prince was changed from July 17, 2009 to Wednesday, July 15, 2009 in the United States.
We have now received word from Warner Bros that the UK release date has not changed; the film will still be out on Friday, July 17, 2009. | |

Whoa. That's weird ... and kind of unfair because when it was July 17, both the US and UK had that date. I wonder why they're keeping this date? Sorry to all the UK people though!!

The UK and US release dates were the same. Then they put the US date day(s) before the UK one.

Well, that isn't right! Hey, it was made in the UK and I think it's only right that you guys get to see it before us, or at least at the same time. There's no question that their motivation is $$$$$ and that's all. They want to find out how much money the movie will generate during the summer blockbuster season. Don't be surprised if they spend the week following the 15th (or longer) going to quite a few overseas premiers too! After the gap since OOTP I think WB will be pulling out all the stops to give HBP a big start.
