| | |  Half-Blood Prince nominated for two BAFTA awards
After being longlisted for seven awards, Half-Blood Prince has today been nominated for two gongs at the 2010 BAFTA awards, in the categories of Production Design and Visual Effects. The sixth Potter film faces competition from Avatar, District 9, The Hurt Locker, Star Trek, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus and Inglourious Basterds.
The awards will be presented at the Royal Opera House in London, England on February 21st, with the show airing on BBC1 (a red carpet show will air prior to the coverage, on BBC3). | |

Visual effects were absolutely amazing and if Avatar wasn't there it would have a very good chance of winning, but anything's possible. Fingers crossed for production design as that has been magnificent from the start of the series - plus i don't think Avatar should win that as all the sets were just filled with green screens! Should have got cinematography nom in my opinion.

It has a good chance for production design tho - I'm keeping my fingers crossed for an HBP win there! But my second choice is District 9 - they deserve more kudos than the others.

Well I'm glad for HBP...it did have good visual effects and the production design was extremely magical. However, when you're up against a film like Avatar, HBP becomes the underdog...but it's been proven even underdogs can win. 
(Though on this one, it's pretty obvious who's going to take home the prize)
