Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, which went on sale in the UK on December 7th,
broke the first day DVD and Blu-ray sales record for the nation in 2009, selling over 840,000 units, 53,000 of which were Blu-ray. The film is also currently the number one downloaded movie on iTunes; and the Blu-ray version has had the biggest first day ever for a family entertainment release.
We will update further on this, including the number of copies sold in the US, where the DVD and Blu-ray were released on Tuesday.
