| | | Half-Blood Prince British premiere date revealed, event to be attended by Royals
A press release announces today that the British premiere of Half-Blood Prince will take place on November 17th, with the Royal family in attendance. The Cinema & Television Benevolent Fund have chosen the sixth Potter film to be The Royal Film Performance of 2008. Quote:
David Heyman added:
"I am delighted that Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince has been chosen for this year's Royal Film Performance. We have always endeavoured to remain true to Jo Rowling's vision in recreating the magic of her world and we have been overwhelmed with the continual support of audiences. And thus, we are thrilled that our film is being honoured in this way and will help to raise money for such good causes."
For the first time ever, fans can buy tickets to the event, which as of yet has no announced venue. To do so please contact The CTBF fundraising department Tel: +44(0)20-7439-2966 or email: events@ctbf.co.uk. All money raised from the event will go directly to the CTBF, which supports industry employees and their families who have fallen on hard times.
Thanks to Alex from Blog Hogwarts for the tip!
We hope to once again cover this event on behalf of the website for you guys. |

Ugh...if only I could go. I'm sure the cast and crew is super excited about this. It's going to be a great day for them, can't wait for images/videos of this event.

I believe the first edit is complete. I think Yates said in the most recent USA Today article that test audiences will be seeing it from next month. Quote:
but i reckon u cant get seats unless by invitation!!wowowow...any idea how to do so?
As stated in the article, it's different this year, they can be bought. I have a feeling it will take place in the Royal Albert Hall, which seats about 6,000. But don't quote me on that! Quote:
hope you can give us a report of what happened there
I've requested tickets too...although we do anticipate being invited to do interviews on the red carpet, again.

i heard those red carpet interviews can be quite a zoo. there was one guy over at ComingSoon/ Suprherohype that gave an account of their day went when they did red carpet interviews for a major franchise. hold cow i didnt know it matters so much about where you are positioned on the red carpet and which reporters stand next to you, and if you have a videocam or not. Yeah some of the effects may not be complete, though I've never heard of them changing the movie based on what the audience has said. Probably because they've never had a vastly negative reaction.

^ European premiere dates won't be announced for a while. Given how every year the number of premieres has increased, I'd say there's a fairly big chance of them going to even more this year.
