| | | Guillermo Del Toro still wants to direct HP
Spanish director Guillermo Del Toro, who said no to directing Prisoner of Azkaban, reiterates his desire to direct a Harry Potter film, in an interview with Empire Magazine. Quote:
Guillermo Del Toro turned down the chance to direct a Harry Potter film because he thought making vampire sequel Blade II would be much more fun. In retrospect he regrets turning down 2004’s Prisoner of Azkaban, but hasn't give up hope filming another installment so he could "kill one of the kids in Harry Potter," he told British film magazine Empire.
"It’s not out of principle that I turned down Potter. Maybe it looks that way from the outside, but from the inside that's what I felt I wanted to do. I stand by the fact that I was very attracted to the chance to make creepy-looking vampires for many years."

Hope he gets the job. I think I've seen one of his other movies. It was great =]. Too bad he'll be the one to kill someone off!

| He's s pretty good director, but wanting to kill a Harry Potter character isn't really a good reason to want to direct the film. |

Honestly, I don't really care who directs the movies, just so long as a coherent story isn't sacrificed for a shorter running time. The last 2 movies seemed more a series of setpieces rather than a proper movie, something I hope won't be continued! IMHO, Chris Columbus is the only one to have come close to doing the books justice.

You know... all this switching of directors is irritating. It would be nice if there was one director that was sticking with it all the way. Then there would be some consistancy between the movies.

Please, no.
I would much rather he did not get another offer to direct the movies. I think I really do not like his directing work.
Now, M. Night Shamaylan would be a good idea! |

Why change the dirctors? I know that it is for different tastes, but why? Just sticking to one dircetor would be nice for me.
