| | | GoF to 'rival' Star Wars Total Film Magazine has featured a brief synopsis on the ' Goblet of Fire' film. While much of the actual information is old, it does make for a good read. Quote:
"As one generation's seminal fantasy saga comes to a close, it's time for another youngster to grasp his glowing wand and continue his assault on pop culture.
The fourth Harry Potter movie promises to be, yes, even darker, with a finale that aims to rival Revenge Of The Sith's fiery molten showdown. Now is the time for our speccy young wizard to face his worst enemy, Lord Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes) - and lose a friend in the process...
Goblet of Fire is also a skewed sports-flick, with the story pivoting on the perilous Triwizard Tournament. Think of a triathlon with Dragons, mazes and mermaids. Three wizarding schools vie for the first prize in the contest, their competitors chosen by the magical, sambuca-stylee Goblet of Fire.
And, wouldn't you just know it, the Goblet picks Potter to represent Hogwarts. Expect trouble.
FACT! Voldemort follower and Death Eater, Barty Crouch Jr, is played by David Tennant, the new Doctor Who."

Did they have to make it sound typical rather than truthwise that Harry gets chosen by the Goblet tricked thinking there is a forth school with Harry as the only candidate. It makes it sound as if Harry is the savior of Howarts rather than the original champion being Cedric Diggory and the fact that Harry shouldnt have been picked for the contest anyway since he is underage. They make it sound like Harry could of entered if he wanted to and that Harry was the likely candidate to be chosen. I think my step dad may buy this magazine every month. I may have a snoop about to see if I can find it.

Revenge was rubbish, I can't see how that even comes close to comparing with HP. Quote:

Revenge was in no way rubbish, as you so bluntly put it. Of course, it doesn't measure up to the originals, but honestly, no matter how good Lucas made this last film you know you would never think any different. I think that because this is the fanale of fanale's people's expectations have been building and building until they were utterly impossible to live up to. Lucas is a brilliant man, I doubt he could produce anything that would be catagorized as rubbish.
Also, I think it should be made clear that there is a distinction between Harry Potter the books and Harry Potter the movies. While the books are outstandingly original, gorgeous and spell-binding to the last (no pun intended), I was a mite dissapointed with the movies. I'm not going to go into why, but I promise that doesn't mean I don't like them--or think that they are any where near rubbish.
Sorry for such a long-winded reply, and I didn't mean to let it out on you like this, I just get tired of people constantly bad-mouthing Revenge of the Sith. Quote:

Maybe we'll see our kids come here one day.

I really can't say which is better considering that I haven't seen a single one of the Star Wars movies. I think Harry Potter is phenominal, and is a simply wonderful movie. I hear different reviews about Star Wars. I plan to see them all, and then I can say which I like better, but for now I can't compare them, lol.

Still looking forward to GoF though. Indeed. I've got signed agreements from my parents saying that they promise I can go at midnight--there's no going back on their word this time! |

I've never seen Star Wars and I don't plan on seeing it either. I've read one of the books though, and that bored the living daylights out of me. I think Goblet will probably be better than all the Star Wars movies put together, but most people disagree with me, so oh well.

........I loved Revenge and I'm tired of people constantly ripping apart Phantom, Clones, and Revenge Lucas didn't want to do these films, and only did to overwhelming pressure from SW Freaks. They were great, and I'll watch them again.
As for HP, I'm setting up disappointment. Although I love HP, and the movies aren't bad, PoA rocked, but after I got home, I was disappointed. I'll enjoy the movie, but I know I'll be disappointed.
