Article:

In this new interview in Empire Magazine, director Mike Newell lays to rest the speculation that GOF would be split into two movies.

"As far as I'm concerned it's absolutely possible to do it in one.
I think it would be slightly embarassing to do it in two" says the director in the March issue of the magazine available on newstands now.

^ agree
and i doesent have to be so long. like Emma said, the book is packed full with details, like describing scenes and people. when you think about it, the World Cup went for almost half of the book. so the rest of it wont take that long as long as they compress the World Cup. like maybe not introducing so many people, and the dream at the start of the book was pretty long, but i dont think it needed to be, it's all mostly description.

i'm sure they know what they are doing

HOORAY!!! It had better be long, scratch that, the longest! It is afterall going to be the most expensive movie in history, why not make it the longest?

Yeah, me too, and I totally agree with Emma.

Mike Newell knows more about how to make the film than any of us do. We just have to wait patiently and I don't think he will take out anything important, just because the book is being made into one movie.

None of us would mind, but that's not the point.

A 4 hour film, would take about 2 years to film, compared to the normal one. That would have a knock on effect with the rest of the films, causing the characters to look even more out place than they already do.

Yup. After all he is an experienced director and he's probably had to face similar situations like this before. Plus, JKR would not have okayed him as the director, if she had no faith in him.

Well I think it is good not to split the movie up into two parts but if they are going to take a lot out just for the movie and the story line so it fits into 2 and some odd hours would as many have said destroy they whole point of the book! The book is one that is starting to show the darker side coming and I dont think it should be chopped up just to fit into time limit. I would rather have it spilt then have it shortened or have important parts in the book taken out all together! But I dont think Jk will allow them to chopp up he book and take important things out of the movie so it is good to have it in one! An as far as the whole age thing goes dont the books follow along with their ages? Well As far as Daniel and Emma I know Tom and Matthew are a bit on the older side but still?

I will trust the director on this one I know it will turn out good!

I reckon as long as they get the most important bits into the film then there should be no problem it being one film. I mean they made return of the king into one film and its longer i think, or about the same length. and as you say they have a good director and it'll be fine.

I'm glad they are making it one movie because it would ruin it if you had to stop in the middle of the movie. I think they should make it at least 3 hours long, but I trust the director.
