* GoF slated release date confirmed

Summary:
A slated date for the GoF release has been confirmed.

Article:

GoF slated release date confirmed

You may remember that SS previously reported that 'Goblet of Fire' will be released on November 18th 2005. We got this information from TLC who first reported it. TLC have received confirmation that WB are still aiming for the 18th November release date but stress that it is only slated and is subject to change while filming progresses.

Also TLC would like to give a reminder about their sweepstakes which they opened a few weeks back. They would like us to inform you that you now have untill June 8th 11:59pm EST to enter the competiton due to previous problems with their emails. After that, no more entries will be accepted. To enter the competition, go to their part of the site here.

mm I'm not looking forward to GOF so much....its my fave book and I think if they are going to squish it into 2.20 like PoA it will be totally hacked to bits. I really hope they make it a long like lotr - I can deal with a numb bottom.

I dont think I'll like GoF much because most of the humor will be cut out because the action sequences will take up much of the film and I am not one for action films.

I dont think they will fit it into 2 hours and 20 minutes. It has to be longer. But you see I cant say how the film will come about because I have never seen any of Mike Newell's work.

I agree - if they put it into 2 1/2 hours too much will be cut out. I'd like to see it as 3 hours plus with some sort of break in the middle. That is how my local WB/Vue showed Return of the King, with a 15 minute break in the middle.

Wouldn't it be funny if the 6th book and GoF both came out at around the same time?

No it would not be funny!! The movies should never take ANY attention away from the books. They don't hold a candle to them.

You hold a very good point, the books are better but I think them coming out round the same time would be a great idea, the hype would be astounding and sales at the box office and book sales will probably be the best ever. You can never have too much of a good thing in my opinion!

Personally, I don't want it to come out during the school year, I'd rather it come out during the Summer, no school. Or if it must come out in November, it better be on a Friday.

I wouldn't mind both getting out at the same time...I'll go watch the movie first then read the book ..but I'll hope it will be longer than the PoA movie.....

I don't think it would be good if the 6th book and GoF came out around the same time. It would be too mad! Everyone would go Potter crazy, or crazier than usual! It would be better if they came out a month apart or something.

I agree that this film should be way longer than PoA, personally PoA was too short for my liking, not enough Quidditch or explanation about The Marauder's Map. Anyway GoF has to be longer 'cos its such a long book. Originally GoF was gonna be 2 movies, so i am glad that it will be 1 movie now. I don't care if it's as long as LotR, i sat through RotK 3 times, without going to the toilet, so i can endure anything!

I hope they don't cut out too much of GoF....I wonder how long the 5th film will be....

I agree, b/c if Curon had directed GoF, then it would be 2 hours definately b/c he would get tired of filming a 3 or 4 hour movie :/

i want the movie to be good, i mean i don't know how everyone else feels byut i was definatly disappointed by the PoA! I mean they lost so much of the plot and character importancce so if that happens by putting GoF into 2 and a half hours i will be thoughorly disappointed!!!!!!!!!!!!!
