| | | GoF length: 150 minutes? The International Movie Database has the length of ' Goblet of Fire' listed as being 150 minutes - 2 and 1/2 hours. This fits with the figure that the film-makers were originally working toward so it should be fairly accurate.
It was previously rumoured that the film would be 2 hours and 20 minutes long.
It is important to note that NOTHING is official yet.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Cara Alexandra Davies Third Year | Shiny 'Claw Babe To me that is still so short for that film. That book is huge. But I guess we have no control in what happens and just wait to see it in so movie theater... *sigh* |

| While I'd prefer 3 hours, I know they don't want to do that. Mainly for the kids. Though as the books get darker, most likely the kids won't be seeing the movies. (Just a general thought. When I saw PoA I heard some child's father saying that after watching it, he won't let his kid see it...) Quote:

Actually I think it'll be the longest out of those three. I know PoA was pretty much the shortest... Of course, definitely not by that much. What? 15 minutes? Of course, 15 minutes in a movie is quite a difference. |

| ^^ Yeah I agree, I'd prefer 3 hours too.. but I can live with 2 and a half. It just doens't make much sense because all four movies would be about the same length and the books get bigger but the films stay short... ah well, I'll defiantly live especially since I'll probably be going to see it with my five year old sister. Well all depends on the rating..

| | | 2 and one-half hours seems too short to me... and I think that time is odd because one rumor( which I didn't believe) said they were thinking of making the movie into 2 | |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Marcella Riddle Graduated | Kaplinski Rival Sorting Hat Machine The figure 2 1/2 was set dwn as the target time about a year ago, so how anyone can act shocked at that number, is a total mystery to me. The figure 3 hours was never ever brought into the equation, so I doubt they're aiming for that.
PS & CoS were insanely and needlessly long, which kinda made bits tedious whereas PoA cut straight to the chase and got into the story rather than going slow, waiting for the kids to pay attention and dragging everything out so they hear it all. Quote:

That rumour never actually materialised into anything. |

Kaylee Grace Magical Creatures | Farmer Carter | | Ama's Secret that is too small, how are they going to cram that whole book into a 2 and 1/2 hour movie, i think it will be a bitty longer than that. |

| Actually, wasn't there a rumor at some point that they were gonna do 3 or 4 hours? I swear it was in Movie Magic at one point, but they quickly debunked that rumor. I am obivously not shocked, but still prefer it to be a bit longer. Their insistance on making the movies short is going to bite them in the butt when it comes to OotP imo. |

That was only if it were to be sliced in half. Quote:

*snorts* Hardly the most credible source -- look at the amount of errors in their latest HP article!
It is possible to do it, this book is very much action orientated and we all know action takes seconds/minutes on screen. |

No, no... this was way after it was confirmed that it wouldn't be sliced in half. Rumors started flying that it would be 3 or 4 hours long. And when I mentioned Movie Magic, I wasn't citing it as a crediable source, I was saying they were the ones who mentioned that there was a rumor circulating that it would be. |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Jenna Reetz | Well, if this is true, then at least it's like ten minutes longer than POA. I wish it were at least three hours. And if it is true, at least it isn't 2 hours and 20 minutes like it was rumoured before. |

| Arteest Extraordinaire come on.. i mean, 2 hours and 45 minutes AT LEAST! But just think you guys, as much as we all love HP, don't you think 3 hr movies are long? Of coarse I would love it to be that length as much as the next person though. |

| Three hours too long? No! Of course, I've watched LotR which were all at least 3 hours if not more. RoTK: EE is well over four hours... I would gladly sit through a 3 hour movie. And they are actually making movies longer these days. |

| Arteest Extraordinaire ohhhhhh TRUST ME I would watch the Lord of the Rings trilogy all extended editions in one day, and I would DEFINATELY want to watch Goblet of Fire, even if it were 5 hours long. (that would be cool lol) I'm just saying it might be long for those who are forced to go, ex. a parent or a friend, and they aren't as into it as we are. I VOTE 3 HOURS! |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Marcella Riddle Graduated | Kaplinski Rival Sorting Hat Machine LotR gave me an extremely numb backside. If they make the films any longer, we'll have to do similar sitting exercises to those that people do on planes to prevent DVT! |

| Haha. I guess it just depends on the person. I can sit anywhere for any number of hours (including plane rides of up to at least 4 hours) so it wouldn't bother me. |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Marcella Riddle Graduated | Kaplinski Rival Sorting Hat Machine Maybe it depends on the size of the backside as to how quickly it gets numb. Mine takes 3 hours.
You shouldn't sit that long on a plane *wags finger* you should walk so you don't get blood clots!
(Can you tell I'm sleepy? I think so...lol)

| LOL I'm afraid enough of flying... and walking around I always end up walking just when we hit terrible turblance. Especially when I'm in the bathroom. Very annoying! But... if I'm not doing anything, I'll tend to sit around for hours any ways. Heck, I can sit through a 4 hour race and not have to get up. I'm quite used to it. hehe But when I saw RoTK in theatres, we had really comfy seats. That might help as well. |
