* GoF filming in Fort William, Scotland, this week! - more locations and times for filming Summary:
It's the last week of the Summer holidays and WB seems to be using their time well. Filming for Goblet of Fire, this week, will take place in Fort William, Scotland. Article: GoF filming in Fort William, Scotland, this week! The Sunday Mail (A reputable British newspaper) is reporting that the stars of the upcoming film, Goblet of Fire will be in Fort William, Scotland this week to film scenes that are to be used in the first task. (Click the link for pictures of the area.) Click here for a photo of Steall Falls, Glen Nevis, Scotland. Quote: THE teenage Harry Potter stars are in Fort William this week to start work on the latest blockbuster.
Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint, who play the wizard and his pals Hermione and Ron, will be in Glen Nevis to shoot scenes for the fourth movie The Goblet of Fire.
Shooting begins at the 400 feet Steall Falls, where the friends will fight a computer-enhanced fire-breathing dragon. Remember the newspaper is just working on information they're getting and most likely therefore don't know that it's only Harry out of the friends, who fights the dragon. Dan (Radcliffe) did say a while back that he had actually filmed the scenes with the dragon BUT he did say that was in Leavesden Studios and they obviously need scenery too for the background. With scenery as beautiful as Scotland, that they can film, there's hardly any need to artificially create mountains with CGI. It wouldn't look good what with a huge CGI dragon already on the screen - the scene could end up looking 'animated' and therefore possibly tacky.
All who can, please go down there and take a look. From what other people have seen it doesn't seem like WB or any of the crew are intent on stopping the public watching the filming. Please send us a news article if you manage to see anything!

| I used to live in Dundee in Scotland but i believe that is still a fair bit away from Fort William. Now i live in N.Ireland. I probably wouldnt have got to see it anyway. I suppose that they wanted to film in a place that has great scenery and is quite secluded. Im sure they'll make it into a great scene! |

Cool, I hope a SS member can go up there and get a few pics for us
I agree with you Emma about the CG mountains and the CG dragon, too much animation isn't good. Yes CGI is better then ever, but with the beautiful scenery of Scotland already available there really isn't much point, might as well us that and film with Dan doing some moves, maybe have a puppet of some sort to represent the dragon so they can insert that later. Maybe at Leavesden studios Dan did alot of the broomstick moves and everything, so they may still need some long, swooping shots and not just close-ups.

Brilliant Place to film.
But bloody hell! i was in Glen Nevis and suroundings last week. Why didnīt they film last week there.
Perhaps I can drive there a fifth time this Summer, if I can arrange that in my timemanagement. But I m not sure, it works. :/
Hopefully there are not so much bloodsucking flys left, it was very nasty last week. | |

Why don't we go and gatecrash Kazzibear's (Karen-Ginger's) house! We can stay there and get a few snap-shots! hehe.
I wish I could go and see some filming too - if they come near me, I definately will.
Ah, The Gladiator battle was filmed near me, so why can't Harry Potter? :/
