| | | GoF film "terror threat" was greatly exaggerated - WB and Leavesden speak about it Summary:
We have received - via the CBBC - confirmation about what exactly happened at Leavesden Studios last Friday when there was a supposed "terror threat". Article: GoF film "terror threat" was greatly exaggerated CBBC Newsround, run by the BBC, have, as ever, come to the rescue and have fixed rumors running amok around the internet.
According to various less-than reliable sources, Leavesden Studios, the location for the majority of the filming for Goblet of Fire, received a terror threat via telephone, last Friday.
Here is what they had to say on the matter: Quote: The studio has confirmed that a hoax call was received last week, but it hasn't resulted in any increase in the already tight security there.* Quote: A spokesperson for Warner Bros. told CBBC Newsround Online: "As with all responsible companies we take the well being of those within our employment, particularly children, very seriously.*
"We have in the past received the odd hoax telephone call, but because of our strict security policies we always report these incidents no matter how seemingly trivial, to the relevant authorities.*
In this case as with previous hoax calls, no further action has been taken nor will be required".* Quote: Hertfordshire Police also told Newsround that they had not drafted in extra officers or police dogs to patrol the studio.* The two previous news articles about this can be found here and here.
Thanks to CBBC Newsround for clearing up yet another rumor. |

I knew it had to be a hoax. Some stupid joke, I swear, you gotta be dumb to do somthing like that. and to call it a terror threat...lol. People really, I think everyone just jumped the gun on that one. But it's good to know that, they are prepared. but they should make the security tighter.
although it's good to know it was'nt true all the same.

i said from the start that it didnt HAVE to be terrorists... everyone's so paranoid and it's exactly what terrorists want, even if its not even terrorists

| Oh, that's a brick off my shoulder. I had serious doubts that it had anything to do with terrorists, but the instant fear and anger towards such a possibility was very real. I'm just extremely relieved that it was just a very twisted hoax; not just because it's Harry Potter but because the world could do without another scare from them.
Thanks for the confirmation! |

Yea, its relieving to know that it was nothign serious, but at the same time its not so great to hear the police say that didn't take any drastic course of action. What if it was real...

Good to know it was fake. I admit I might have worried but I hear lots of terrorist "threats" and so forth living in the US. People just need more to do in their life than stir up rumours.
