I, like so many other fans. I am OUTRAGED at Warner Bros's pre-production actions for Goblet of Fire. It would be an insult to the source material as many things would be cut out. I have created a list of what I FEAR could be cut out:
The Yule Ball
Giggling Girls before Yule Ball
Discussion in antechamber on Halloween
Pre-Task worries and discoveries such as the egg and dragons.
The Articles of Rita Skeeter
The Riddle House
The Argument between Fudge and Dumbledore at climax
Discussion with Padfoot OR/ AND The Pensieve
Ludo's betting
End of friendship between Harry and Ron
Character complexity or development
Voldemort's talk to Death Eaters that explains the past and forshadows the future
Hagrid being Half-Giant and Professor Grubbly-Plank
Hermione's attempts to free house-elves
Malfoy being turned into a ferret.
And many more I can't remember (I haven't read GoF for five months)
As you can see, the characters would lose their "main problem" this year. I wouldn't be surprised if Rita Skeeter would be cut out all together as she is mostly in for "comic-relief subplot". The Quidditch World Cup might be cut out along with the Dark Mark, but those two sequences could easily be fitted into a time of sixteen-twenty minutes.
Clearly, if GoF was 150 minutes, it could be shown more daily, resulting the W.B execs to be swimming in more dough. Honestly, Warner Bros. is ruining the books we love for the money, and I will not tolerate such actions (I feel personally involved in this, thank you for asking). I am now going to waste $10 in stamps for mail I will send to Warner Bros, threatening disloyalty to the movie.
That's right disloyalty, disloyalty to the movies, if two years from now in the newspaper movie review t has the time of Goblet of Fire which reads: 2 hrs, 3O min. The movie will just be bull**** compared to books and it will be the end of the franchise. At lest they could make the movie three hours and forty-five minutes.

   I WILL NOT GO TO GOBLET OF FIRE UNLESS IT IS OVER THREE-AND-A-QUARTER HOURS LONG!
Chamber of Secrets is 341 pages long and had a 160 minute long movie. Goblet of Fire is 734 pages long and has to be around the same time length while it should be really over FIVE HOURS! FIVE HOURS, NOT TWO-AND-A-HALF!
