| | |  'Goblet of Fire' High-Definition DVD release date
WB Home Video have announced that the High-Definition edition of the ' Goblet of Fire' DVD will be released on April 11th 2006.
They have also said that the release date for the regular DVD is still not confirmed. As soon as it is, we'll let you know. | |

Finally News I can use. Well there was that bit about Rupert...  EDIT:  Yay First to post again. 2nd EDIT: Don't delete me Emma...LOL I should ask her not to ban me for being obnoxious while I'm at it...can they ban you for being obnoxious? 3rd EDIT: High Definition? That means it only plays on HDTV's or what? Gah, I hate the future...*goes back to Beta* 4th EDIT: Well since those come out later, don't they? Wouldn't that mean the regular edition could be out in March? 5th EDIT: Why oh why don't they just tell us already...who wants to camp outside of Suncoast with me??? Anyone? Anyone?

I'm assuming that it will be BEFORE the HD DVD comes out. So sometime in March like previous reports. I don't know why they just won't tell us. :p Even Netflix is reporting March 7th.
I would love to have the HD DVD. We have a HD TV, but no HD DVD player. Right now those are a bit on the expensive side... | |

High Definition is a new digital optical media format. Regarding this new digital optical media format, there's Blu-ray, and there's HD-DVD. HD-DVD is backed by Warner Bros, so it's not surprising that they would release GoF as a HD-DVD. You'll need a HD-DVD player to be able to watch this, and I hear HD-DVD players are coming out soon.
I personally believe they're giving the HD-DVD date and not the DVD date simply to get people hyped up about HD-DVD. They'll go out and buy HD-DVD players just to watch it. The HD-DVD/Blu-ray war is on folks. Pick a side, and hopefully pick a side that won't collapse like Betamax in the VHS/Betamax war. My money is on Blu-ray collapsing. Sony needs to give things appropriate names, not stupid names.
Afton: HD-DVD data can be written at a higher density. You can store more data on a HD-DVD than a DVD. More data = More special features, and a higher quality movie.
