Whimsic Alley in California will be giving Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince away absolutely free to customers of its website and its Santa Monica, CA store. Quote:
Harry Potter fans seem to have adopted Whimsic Alley as their own. In chat rooms and news articles, fans have been referring to Whimsic Alley as "the Harry Potter store." In the three months since the store opened near Los Angeles, it has attracted visitors from all over the country, as well as Canada, France, Australia and Russia.
Quote:
Built by Hollywood visual set designer Paul Felix-Montez, it is reminiscent of a mystical London street where student and professional wizards converge to procure their magical wares. One of its shops - Phoenix Wands - offers twenty styles of handcrafted wooden wands. Other shops offer such things as wizard clothing, crystal balls, quill pens, potion bottles, caged owls and phoenixes, swords, staffs, magical candies and plush hippogriffs.

Well, it's not really free 'cause according to samanthalee, you need to buy something worth $50 before they give you the book, which 'causes what, around $20-$30? If your just interested in the book and not in their merchandise, then you would save more if you just bought the book. But, hey, they got cool merchandise anyways.
Thanks for the info, Emma! :sorcerer:

*pouts* Every time they've got something good I want, it's always four hundred something miles/a city away; and that includes southern California and Washington state! But when they do have something I want comes to SF, I always miss it because of some other event my family wants me to go to, or otherwise it has already passed several years ago.
Well, I wasn't really going to get one for free if it includes to purchase something in order to take the advantage of the offer unless they have something I want to purchase, or it's something % off on only the book. I'll just preorder the book, thanks.

thats really cool, but don't you guys think this is not a good idea afterall, if its customers can get the book for free it's not fair on people who have to buy it...
