In the Sunday edition of the UK's The Sun, actress Geraldine Somerville (Lily Potter in the Harry Potter films), speaks about her new acting project, ITV1's drama The Children, and about how she reacted to getting the role of Harry Potter's mother in the films. Quote:
It was in 2001’s Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone that she first appeared as the boy wizard’s mother Lily Potter.
But Geraldine admits the role isn’t as exciting as it seems, because Lily appears to Harry only occasionally from beyond the grave.
She added: “I kind of found it quite frustrating. When I first got the part I was really excited, thinking ‘Yessss, Harry Potter’s mum, this is going to be great’ and then I read the books . . . ‘Oh, OK, so she’s dead’."

Yeah, I agree with her. It is cool that she is playing Harry Potter's mom, but she's not really in the movies or books very much. But I'm sure they'll have her in the Deathly Hollows in the forest scene. | |

As much as she is too old to play Harry's mum, if you're sticking to cannon, she looks exactly as i had always imagined, and it will be nice to see her back in the 7th film, to walk Harry to his "demise".
