Post Gary Oldman talks GoF

An interview with Gary Oldman on IGN has him briefly discussing his role as Sirius Black in 'Goblet of Fire'. He reveals that his role in the film is very small.

Quote:
I'll disappoint you because I'm just a tiny, tiny little part in the next one. I'm just embers in the fire. But if I do Harry Potter five, I'm featured in five. And, oh, they'll have to pay me big bucks for that. (He laughs)

Well, Gary is brilliant, so I am a bit saddened that his part will be so small in GoF; but I think not all of us understand that it is really difficult to adapt a book into a movie (Trust me it is no fun!). You can take as long as you like to read a book, but with a movie you only have approx. 2 hours to convey the whole story that might take up to 10 hours to read unabridged. Unfortunately there are things that need to be cut down or cut out entirely. Honestly, I think the only reason that he is in this movie at all is because his part in the next one is so important to the story of Harry's fifth year.

I think that if they try to replace Gary in the next movie that the casting director should be drawn and quartered! There is no one better for that role than he.
