An interview with Gary Oldman on IGN has him briefly discussing his role as Sirius Black in ' Goblet of Fire'. He reveals that his role in the film is very small. Quote:
I'll disappoint you because I'm just a tiny, tiny little part in the next one. I'm just embers in the fire. But if I do Harry Potter five, I'm featured in five. And, oh, they'll have to pay me big bucks for that. (He laughs)

True, not really a surprise! He doesn't play a big role in GOF. The good thing is that from his quote, it sounds like he has intentions to be in OOTP. Do you guys think so? I think he was joking about the big bucks part (I hope!)

Gary and David (Thewlis) are as thick as thieves; they both love the Potter books and even mourned Sirius death in 2003 when the book was released. I'm positive he'll be back and he's probably half-joking about the money - after all I'd imagine the adults get paid quite alot because they're all so experienced and are in such high demand.
I think we should be greatful they even included the fire scenes. At least this bodes well for the Ron/Harry fight, which I REALLY want to see onscreen.

Oh that was one of my fave parts!!!! I really wanted to see that part. But the movie os 2 and a hlaf hours so they cant fit everything in. Its cant be very significant if it aint in there. They only include what is needed. Its still ashame tho! I think Sirius is great....hes one of my faves.

I think he'll do OotP and as feature character I would have no doubt he'll be paid more. That really isn't a surprise. Several of the adult actors have larger roles in OotP. Sirius, Snape, the Weasleys, Moody, and Lupin all have big roles in OotP. I hope that $$ doesn't keep any of the actors we know from playing their part. HP is a billion dallor enterpise for WB and I hope they continue to cast quality actors in the films.

I don't think they've got any reason to re-cast the adults. They're all terrific character actors.

He talks like he'll probably be back for OotP *jumps in her seat happily*! I didn't think he'd have a very big part in GoF, but he'd have to play a pretty major part in OotP. I think all the actors cast for the older characters worked out really well.

well sirius had a small part anyway! he was in the fire, and there when harry came back from the third task that was about it! besides that trip to hogsmeade where he met ron hermione and harry!

Hmmm, I'm not too surprised. As has been said, OotP is more important as far as Sirius's role in the story. GoF he was just kind of there to give advice and give Harry something nice to think about/look forward to. | |

It makes sence that his part is small, because it's a movie, but it would be really cool if the movie was the whole book, and nothing cut, sure it would be longer, but really cool!!!

it is funny when he talks abotu reading OOTP he is like "it dosent look good for me i was hoping for some long time work!" lol..

As I said in the other thread, I would have been happy to the Sirius in the end of GoF. Not only because of the "uurgh-I must shake your hand- I might get a virus" situation, but also because of Sirius who seem to be reluctant to leave Harry a second time after PoA. Would be kind of a forshadowing (OotP) and another emotional scene for the end of the movie (Gof) But, oh, well.....you can`t have everything, can you?
