APPRENTICE witches and wizards enjoyed a day in the life of Harry Potter.
They were able to take part in a variety of magic-themed activities, including the art of feather levitation.
Members of the SOL 3 Alliance Science Fiction and Fantasy club organised the event as part of a fantasy fair at The Cresset, in Bretton, Peterborough.
Alliance member Frank Rockley said: "We had lots of kids come in and they all enjoyed themselves, it was great fun."
More than £170 was raised through a raffle and donations for The Exotic Pet Refuge, at Deeping St James, near Peterborough.
Pam Mansfield of the refuge said: "It was a really nice day.
"It was a bit unusual and the children seemed to enjoy it.
"We took along a snowy owl, a European eagle owl and a barn owl, which the children were able to stroke because they are very tame."
She said the money would be used to buy feed and new cages for the animals.
Visitors dressed up as characters from JK Rowling's five bestselling novels, including Hagrid and young wizards Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger and Harry Potter himself.
All the outfits, props and prizes used on the day were hand-made by members of the alliance.
