A few days ago we told you about a French teenager who had been arrested after he translated, and posted a copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows on the internet. Now, it appears that he will not be sued. This decision has been made by JK Rowling and the publisher of the French version. Quote:
The unnamed teenager, from the southern city of Aix en Provence, had told police after being arrested and briefly detained a week ago that he had not sought to make money off his unauthorised translation.

A spokeswoman for Gallimard said Saturday the publisher had lodged a police complaint to allow for the investigation but emphasised "the aim was never financial; it is only aimed to protect authors' rights".

I don't think he should've been sued, because he wasn't trying to make money. He was just trying to let other people read it. The official translator needs to hurry up, if a teenager can do it faster, then there is something wrong. I'm glad he got off.

It's nice and all that he's not being sued, but he should've known that what he did was a big no-no.

He should get into some trouble, but I think that it was nice of JKR to let him off. I also think that he was just doing it for the people who couldn't realy the books themselves and was wanting them to know what happened. Like breaking the rules for a good purpose. Hmm....  ...Kinda reminds you of someone doesn't it?

Coming back to see some very old news I never read.
It amazes me how many SS Harry Potter fans wanted him to be sued. I'm simply shaking my head at that and laughing at the foolish publishers who took their time. He made complete tools out of them by beating the whole publishing company. Maybe they should stop being lazy and do their job?
