Harry Potter et les reliques de la mort will count a total of 812 pages of suspense, action and romance. In comparison, the UK version of Deathly Hallows was 607 pages long, 205 pages shorter than the French edition.
The book will be released this Friday, October 26th.

French sentences tend to be longer... I noticed that on cereal boxes when the French paragraphs are a bit longer than the English ones.  There's no added content or anything.

I translated this article for the French forum, and just to give you an example of what I mean by saying that the sentences are longer, I used the trusty word count.
Amount of letters in the English article: 238
Amount of letters in the French article: 264
That's 26 letters, a considerable amount for such a short article.
And obviously, as Emma mentionned, the font size, and even the dimensions of the book has an impact on the amount of pages. Although, if I remember correctly, there are no pictures in the French edition.
