| | |  Fleur Delacour definitely not in Half-Blood Prince
Previously Clémence Poésy (Fleur Delacour) had told the press that she hadn't been contacted about being in Half-Blood Prince. In an interview with MTV, Clémence said she was not asked to return for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince to reprise her role as French beauty Fleur Delacour.
While Fleur plays a larger role in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Poésy confesses that she has not read the last three books. Quote:
Somebody already told me the end of ‘Order of the Phoenix,’ and I was like, ‘You’re ruining everything!’” Poésy laughed, since she plans to read the remaining books on her next vacation “back to back.” Still, she can’t resist asking for one one spoiler: “Has Harry done some bad things?”
While it remains to be seen whether we will ever see her make an appearance in the final Potter film, she will appear in a film called In Bruges with other Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire co-stars Brendan Gleeson, who plays Mad-Eye Moody, and Ralph Fiennes, who portrays Lord Voldemort. (In this one, Fiennes plays another killer who, funnily enough, is named Harry.  ) Quote:
“Isn’t that funny?” exclaimed Poésy. “We didn’t tease [Ralph] about it, but maybe we will now. I had met Brendan before, and he was really sweet. He liked scaring kids with his costume, showing it to all the extras, who were like, ‘How do you do that with your eye?’”
Not that Poésy isn’t above scaring the kids as well. “It would be nice of you not to write that,” she teased. “The kids think I have powers, so I can say, ‘Be careful, otherwise I can turn you into a frog! I’ve learned.’ So don’t tell anyone I don’t have witchcraft powers.”
While we won't see Clémence Poésy, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince hits theatres on November 21, 2008.  | |

I wonder if she hasn't been contacted because Fleur will not be in the movie, or because they are planning to recast her. I never liked her as Fleur because she doesn't seem like the description that JKR gave in the books. She just looks like a pretty girl but not irrisistible.

That is such an interesting point, Em! I think you might be right. I think the film audience would care more about that at this point if B/F isn't in HBP...or at least it isn't set up at all. (But what about Shell Cottage?!)
Shannon  They may or may not use the same actors, if needed, but to be honest they weren't that important in the books, so I can understand them being left out. Quote:

The importance of that sequence comes through the plan with the goblin. Everything else is just decoration. So when you think of it like that, the plot device could be written in a different environment. For instance, they go to Lupin & Tonks' place...
