Without a lengthy introduction, here is her spoiler-free review:

Before getting Half-Blood Prince, I had not been subjected to any spoilers. All I knew was that somebody was going to die, as it's somewhat common in the Harry Potter books, and that the Half-Blood Prince was not Harry or Voldemort. By the first couple of chapters, my jaw was dropping. It was quite dark, and for me it was shocking. My jaw dropped lots of times during this part, and there were plenty exclamations of "NO WAY!" and "OMG!" coming from my bedroom, which in turn got my mother running in being all like "What happened?!". As I previously said, it was quite dark, the death rate for this one is much higher than with the other books. However these deaths are only lightly mentioned, and it adds to the dark and foreboding mood of the book, but it's well used. Witches and wizards seem terrified that something bad will happen to them, some even disappearing without any reason or mention.

For those wondering, yes, there is a bit more romance in Half-Blood Prince. I saw the word 'snogging' come up often. I'm not going to specify which ships, you can the book and find out. I liked how Half-Blood Prince has some ties with Chamber Of Secrets, specifically speaking, Tom Riddle's diary. It's interesting how JK Rowling figured out how to tie it in, and well, it's exactly what someone would to in extreme lengths to achieve immortality. When I got about half-way, there is lead as to who exactly the Half-Blood Prince. At this stage, I personally felt a little let down as the person who they assume may be the Half-Blood Prince, is someone who isn't even a character. This feeling soon disappeared when I began to reach the ending.

I quite liked Half-Blood Prince, in my opinion is somewhat kind of a prequel as well for a particular character. We discover the history about this certain character, and I personally found it very interesting. I won't reveal who this character is, you're just going to have to read the book!

In Order Of The Phoenix, Harry was incredibly angsty and just generally snappy, it was like he had a male form of PMS constantly. I understand that his 5th year may not have been the best, but at times it made me want to put my book down, not read it, and strangle him. It was a bit over the top personally. Fortunately, Harry seems to have calmed down in Half-Blood Prince, and he isn't so snappy and angsty. It's like JK Rowling decided to give him tranquilizers and sedatives or something.

But that was good, never once during Half-Blood Prince did I want to put the book down. I found that Order Of The Phoenix was a little long-winded, not a book I'd want to read in one sitting if I felt like it and had the time. Half-Blood Prince, although shorter than Order Of The Phoenix, in my opinion, was much better. There are probably some who would disagree with me, but each has their own opinion. Order Of The Phoenix did make me cry, but not as much as Half-Blood Prince did. I've never cried about a book or anything happening in a book prior to Order Of The Phoenix and Half-Blood Prince. I'm not going into too much depth as to why I was crying, but as we all know, a character dies. It's who dies and who kills them that is completely shocking!

I'd write more, but I'm afraid if I continue writing I'll end up writing spoilers! Half-Blood Prince was a great book, it's by far my favourite in the series so far. It was definitely worth the wait. Now I can't wait until the 7th book comes out!

I said I was going to do that, but here I am at chapter 19 and I am not in the mood to slow down. I am sure I will do that for the last book, I promise myself that!

I've just finished the book.....I thought the first 400 pages were a bit pointless and a lot of it could have been condensed. The final 200 pages had me on the edge of my seat, but I think overall I am disappointed in the book. I expected it to be better.

From what I heard it's very emotional. I read some spoilers and this book looks like it's going to change everyones views on certain things.

I've only read the first 2 chapters but after that I really want to know what's gonna happen even though I don't want it to end! (only 607 pages?!?!?!)

I'm up to page 84, and proud of it...my mum was annoying me when we went to the shops cause she wanted to go and visit my godmother...we were in her shop for 40 minutes and i couldn't just whip out my book and read it cause like, it would be rude, then I couldn't read in the car cause I would vommit...then I only got to read for 30 minutes cause I had to go to work, and now I just can't be bothered reading...aren't I a good fan??

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! how can someone read it that fast i've been up all night with my friend Kim saying it's been 1 hour since HPB came out 2,3,4, hours we're getting impatient!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My step dad knows who it is who dies, he keeps "about telling" me but i keeping doing weird thing to prevent him from saying it.... it's acually working

Kim will walk to wal*mart in the rain if she has to, she serious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We'll read it slower than chris!!!!!

I've suddently become depressed. I was bored so I began to browse some Harry Potter groups on that stupid trendy craze called MySpace, and all of the groups have been posted on with all the secrets about the new book (in the titles to their posts, even!), so now I know who the HBP is and I know who dies without even having read the book :-( My year has just been ruined.

I've just finished the book. It is bloody fabulous! I was crying so much I had snot coming out of my nose! (not a pretty site). I'm off to read it again

People who spoil are brats *trying to control the lanuage*. You can't replace the feeling you get when you read something for the 1st time and if you know about it, it's just not the same.

I am so excited about this book! I cannot wait to read it I went to a Harry Potter house party at Barnes and Nobles to get my book (55th person in line) it was great. This sounds like a very good book! Thanks for the review!

I live in Perth, Australia. Ours was released at 7.01AM. When I think about it, we didn't get home until 7.30AM so I finished it in about 4 and a half hours, because I finished at 12.00PM and I was at my computer when the flight from Perth to South African flies over at 12.15PM.

Gross I know, but my snot tasted kind of salty today. I just let myself cry as I finished the book, no tissues nearby. Must have something to do with the steroids I have to spray up my nose for my allergies. I only just started using them about a week ago.

I thought my husband had pre-ordered me a copy, but we were talking about my work schedule the other day, and when I said I had to work Saturday, he said, "Oh, then you can get your book."

Meaning I could buy it myself. Anywhere. Not just the store I thought he'd ordered it from.

Now I have to wait a couple of weeks because, like an idiot, I counted on this and didn't save my spending money. *grrrrr*

OMG you guys are making it sound so awesome. I just went to amazon.com and mine is on its way. It should be coming on Tuesday. OMG I can't wait to read it. I was at a release party last night and they read the first chapter. Glad to know the answer to one of my questions. I just hope nobody spills anything to me before Tuesday or I just might cry. lol. I don't want spoilers. I can't wait.........

That is what happened to me when I read the 5th book, I went onto a forum that had nothing to do with Harry Potter, and someone sent me a PM saying "OMG lyk, can you believe that ___ ______ dies!!!" I was so annoyed... *grumbles*

I refuse to let that happen with this book. I figure this site it pretty safe though as I know you guys are going through a lot to make sure it is spoiler free.

Am I the only oneon here who's almost scared to find out what happens? my parents are at the market and I'm waiting for them to come home with my book. OMG Last night I dropped My cousin off at the airport, and while i was walking out i stopped by the gift shop and saw the Clerk UNLOADING THE BOOKS this was at 11:00 and he held the book open and let me read the inside cover!!!!!!!!! i mentioned something about apparating, jokes and eyebrows. lol

Nice Review i'm scared, anxious and excited!
