| | |  First GoF TV Spot - FALSE ALARM!
UPDATE #2: THIS WAS A FALSE ALARM -- THE CLIP WAS OF LOTR NOT HP!
Word is going round that apparently a ' Goblet of Fire' TV spot aired on British television this evening (The Biography Channel & Channel 4).
One description of the supposed clip, is as follows: Quote:
It's just Harry standing and looking straight into the camera... smoke surrounding him...i think it was from the grave yard.. it only last about 4 seconds as the camera pans out.
HOWEVER, the lovely people at TLC have added that this is most likely a false alarm. Quote:
"There is next to zero chance the first glimpse at GoF will be caught obscurely, at random, by chance...we'll know when a real teaser is coming."
Mugglenet have said the following: Quote:
"We received two reports from different IPs in different parts of England describing roughly the same thing so we decided it was worth mentioning, especially because the Dailpy Prophet (news) section of the official site went down around the same time the news was submitted. But we shouldn't have gotten so excited without any sort of hard evidence. And yes, it's true that teaser trailers usually precede TV spots."
They also acknowledge that this could be a false alarm.
There's also a possibility that what was seen, was the ' Goblet of Fire' videogame trailer which is also due to be released soon.
Just thought you guys would like to be kept informed  If I hear anything more, I'll update. UPDATE: Ethan, one of the original people who informed Mugglenet of the spot has been quoted as saying, Quote:
"Ok, from what I remember I saw what looked like a house elf sitting on a rock inside a dark cave surrounded by black water. And it looked as though it was reaching for something, then I saw some text, 'It's Coming' then the Harry Potter logo ect.."
This contradicts the earlier report :/ UPDATE #2: THIS WAS A FALSE ALARM -- THE CLIP WAS OF LOTR NOT HP!

Yeah, I definitely don't imagine the first spot being on TV *this* early. It's still 7 months away and we'd see the first sneak peek in a theatre before on national television. Although... it would obviously be nice to see something! hehe

My instinct? Either a hoax or it was a clip of the videogame trailer. The description is peculiarly vague. Even if WB were going to air a clip on the TV prior to a trailer, I doubt they'd do it at 10PM (BST) on a Sunday!

It'd be nice, but fat chance. The other's first trailers were the teasers, and they were in theatres first, attached to other WB movies. TV spots are usually really close to opening to increase the hype.
I would be very happy to have to eat my words about this, however. | |

why would there be a house elf if dobby and winky were cut from GOF? I would beleive it more to be the video game, but I highly doubt that they would put that out anyways.

 How is HP and LOTR in any way similar?
That makes sense though... a house elf on a rock = gollum on a rock... that makes a lot more sense.

I'm kind of thinking it will be out with STAR WARS REVENGE OF The SITH out May 17th. There are alot of what look to be block busters coming out this summer. We'll just have to see!
