One of the reporters who broke the news of
Eddie Redmayne being the frontrunner for Newt Scamander in
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them gave a bit more information about the production itself, including that other characters featured may be the entire Scamander family, and a person named Jacob.
Borys Kit, who reported Redmayne as Warner Bros.'s top choice for Scamander for The Hollywood Reporter Friday evening, stated that the Oscar-winning-actor hasn't accepted the role because he has not seen the script yet.
J.K. Rowling, who is penning the series, admitted numerous times that she has yet to complete the script for the first film, which is due to begin production later this summer.
Harry Potter's David Yates will direct, with producer David Heyman overseeing the saga.
As the Twitter updates from Kit show, other characters being considered for casting are Newt's parents, two sisters, and someone named Jacob.
Please note that NOTHING about this has been confirmed by Warner Bros., J.K. Rowling, Redmayne's team, or anyone else involved in any official capacity with
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Please do take this all as rumours until stated otherwise.
