| | | False HBP article in French mag
A french magazine, 'Télérama', falsely printed some information in regards to who will die in ' Half-Blood Prince' and even quoted Jo Rowling as saying who was most likely to die in her next novel!
They claimed JK Rowling stated that a main character will die in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. They also reported that JKR said that the most likely to die are Hagrid, Dumbledore, and McGonagall.
Rowling has referred to the article as "less than accurate."
The only thing the author has said in relation to deaths, in her coming novels, is that there will be more - anything else is just pure speculation.

Wait..."Less than Accurate.." not to mislead anyone. But if the magazine said Dumbledore,McGonagall, and Hagrid are the most likely to die.....and she says "Less than accurate" this means...this might be actually that..those people will be pretty much safe? Hmmmmmmm...makes you think...purely speculation of course...

Good thing I don't read much magazine and tablooid articles. I really just wait for the book and only get excited when Jo reveles something herself.

You see so many rumors now you don't know who to believe on the subject. Other than JKR herself anyway.
I hope none of the Weasley's die, but as there are so many it's likely that atleast one will. If any one of them does, sorry to say, but I hope it's Percy. I liked Percy at first, but after awhile he gets just a tiny bit annoying.
I really hope Dumbledore, McGonagall, and Hagrid stick around! I bet Dumbledore will stick around until Voldemort's defeated, but then again the least likely people tend to die. It just adds to the mystery of Harry Potter.

There is also that theory that people are dying in the opposite order of the names on the map. Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot, and Prongs. So the next would be Wormtail then Moony. I think that dumbledore will sacrifice himself to save the school too. Well enough of the death rubbish, unless it has to do with the person who wrote that article. Not my Percy!!! Not my Moony!! Dumbledore!! *clings for dear life*
Kill off that Pettigrew guy... who needs him? lol

Aw, well, not all magazines are bad, they probably just got some mis-info from an overly excited reporter or something.

I hate rumors like these! But the speculation keeps people interested, and we've still got over 4 months so that's all we can do- speculate!

No way any of the trio will die before the end of the series! (Though all bets are off as to who survives the last book!)
I'd vote for Percy (because he's so very annoying!), but I really think it will be someone new. JKR seems to create new characters only to eliminate them; Quirrel, that blond DADA teacher, Dolores Umbridge, Sirius... the list goes on and on. We hadn't heard of Cedric Diggory until book 4, and then he gets killed. So I don't think it will be anyone we have a strong attachment to yet.
But, of course, only JKR knows...

It's sick how tabloids are only on the market to make money and spread rumors. I think it's disgusting.
Well, its the only way they can sell their magazines isnt it? Even though its disgusting, would you want to read a magazine about information that you already know? They create new information to pull you in. Tabloids arent good, but in general, the media isnt disgusting, okay, well it can be at times, lol.
They say that Dumbledore is in the list to die, its not very logical, he's still needed to the story.

Calm down!
First of all Télérama is not a Tabloid, it's one of the respected french TV magazines and it's a very intellectual one, like you won't read gossip about TV or movie stars in it. They just have movie revues and articles about arts in general. It's not at all a tabloid.
Second, I've read the article (obviously as we get this magazine at home) and frankly most of the article is about the odds on internet and in bookmakers stores on the probable disapearance of one of the characters. Yes the first sentence is about how JKR maintains the pressure by saying someone might die, but it doesn't specify who or in which book. Just says that odds are multplying in the UK and then it gives the list. There are 3 pictures (Hagrid, Dumbledore and McGonagall) with the internet odds. Finally it says that the last 2 in the odds are Draco and Harry. The entire article has a humorous twist and really do not pretend to reveal anything! It just points out the funny gambling around the books.
I really don't think they intend to spread any kind of rumour there or even give out information that they cannot have.
