| | | False article doing the rounds
A translation of an article from 'Total Stars' magazine, is doing the rounds. It claims Dan said he wants to return for 'Order of the Phoenix', amongst other things. It has been confirmed that Dan did not say the things that are in this article. Quote:
Allegedly, Dan said the following in an interview :: Total Stars Question :: Will you participate in the next Harry Potter movie? Dan's Answer :: I really hope so, but I heard that I'm now too old to play Harry, and it doesn't surprise me! And they say the same for Emma Watson and Rupert Grint. I think it's ridiculous, and very sad... So we will see. Of course, if they let me make the decision, I will do it again!
Please let me stress this right now - IT IS TOTAL RUBBISH, Dan never said that.
Please be careful when reading rumour posts like this on other sites, especially translations of alleged quotes he says in teen or specialty magazines which are often fabricated. If I don't post it on this site, chances are I didn't because it is either untrue or it was from an unreliable source - and in this case Dan DID NOT say the things that are now circulating on the net from this article.
Quote:
Jenna said: "Dan has not done any interviews with any media this year yet, and that was confirmed with WB."
The only one from the trio who has said whether they want to stay on for film 5 was Rupert Grint. Quote:
"There's no reason, really, why we couldn't go on. I don't know about the others, but I want to go on."
However, Dan and Emma have expressed that they'd like to continue doing the films, in the past, if it's possible. Age shouldn't be an issue with Emma as Hermione is 15 in ' Goblet of Fire' (as she's born in 1979 as confirmed by Jo Rowling) and so is still slightly younger than her character.

I hope all three will stay
Age wise
look how young they made Tom look in the first movie
I think they all can stay if they want that is.

You know, I think the whole age thing was insinuated by the media because of what David Heyman said. He never said anything about age, he was referring to what the trio wants to do, but some reporter made it sound like age was a factor.
Any ways, that said, I had a feeling from the get go that this article was false. There is another french article that circulated that Rupert supposedly gave that never set well with me. I think my argument for that just got stronger with this. lol

Yep, it is the actors' choices to keep playing their characters, and I suppose we are all happy when they choose keep them.

Age is an issue, sort of. But not the main one. If they did leave it'd most likely be out of choice. I don't see WB 'sacking' (for lack of a better phrase) people who generate them millions simply because one is playing a 15 year old at the age of 20.

I hope the whole trio stays for the rest of the movies. I wouldn't watch the movies if they didn't.

Oh, I just mean I don't think age is the major issue right now. Of course, come movie 7 if they're looking like they're in their 30s, there might be something, but I think David Heyman's words were twisted by a reporter to make it sound like age was the defining factor *right* now and that wasn't at all what he meant. I remember reading the article and wondered where the heck anyone got age factor from to begin with because Mr. Heyman never mentioned age. lol

No, Hermione. Hermione and Emma are two different people!
Book four takes place 1994/1995. Hermione turns 15 in the September of 1994. Therefore making Emma still younger than her role hence she can't possibly look 'too old'.

I don't think they'd ever replace them. It's all or nothing; these kids or the films stop. WB know they wouldn't make a profit so what'd be the pointin continuing if one or all decided to leave or grew too old?
Definately agree with you on that one! I would surely be ahem -- p o'ed if they recasted for the next three films or even one of them!

I agree with many of you that it's all or nothing! It's either all of them or no films, because I don't think people will still watch the movies if it's not those 3 kids. I won't. Even if they age 2 years for every year their characters age, who cares, really?!! Dan, Rupert and Emma ARE Harry, Ron, and Hermione. Really can't see how they can pull it off with someone else.
