Exclusive: SnitchSeeker at the Half-Blood Prince US press conference
Before last night's premiere, we had the honour of attending the US press conference for Half-Blood Prince, where actors Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, Bonnie Wright, Tom Felton, and Michael Gambon, as well as director David Yates, producers David Heyman and David Barron, and screenwriter Steven Kloves spoke about the sixth film, the series as a whole, J.K. Rowling, outside projects and futures (in the case of the younger cast). It can be listened to in eight parts below (each conference - there were two - lasted about 45 minutes).
On the dark and light themes of the sixth film, Emma voiced her opinion on Hermione's mental state at the time:
Quote:
Emma: I think it was a nice break; I think that if Hermione kept going at the rate she was going in terms of the worrying she was doing she might have developed a hemorrhage.
Dan praised Rupert's comedic ability in Half-Blood Prince:
Quote:
Dan: I have to say, I think this is, in terms of the comedy, this is Rupert's finest hour in this film. I think he's absolutely brilliant in the movie and is, kind of reveals himself to be a fantastic practitioner of physical comedy. The scene on the broomstick in Quidditch is something like out of Buster Keaton. It's absolutely brilliant and I was belly-laughing.
Dan also mentioned how he went about playing Harry under Felix Felicis' power:
Quote:
Dan: To be honest, I just let the more manic side of myself that I suppress for 23 hours of every day loose for a while on-set, and just became a kind of uncontrollable, vaguely irritating, but sort of vaguely amusing person that I keep hidden, and then just let him out and went mad for a few days. It was great fun to be able to do it; and it is a side of the character that hasn't really been seen before. David Heyman leaned over to me at the premiere and said, "that's my favourite piece of acting that you've done in this film." So maybe I should have just been playing him slightly more manic all along.
well, I don't have the quiet to listen right now, but maybe later!! Can't wait to see HBP!!!!! 1 day!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love the quote about the Felix scene, can't wait to see it!!!!
