Quote:
Are you a fan of Harry and Hermione or Ron and Hermione?
Christopher Paolini:I’m not sure… I think I’d rather wait and see what Mrs. Rowling does and let her surprise me on that point.
Solembum: I personally like Ron and Hermione.
Christopher Paolini: Mhm, I could see that working.

Did you know that last week you were all over every Harry Potter websites’ news?
Christopher Paolini: No!
Mike: Yeah, you were, it was the Comic-Con interview because you had opinions on Harry Potter and stuff.
Christopher Paolini: Ah, were they pleased or not?
Mike: They were happy, ‘cause I mean, the headlines were, like uh, “Christopher Paolinitopher Paolini, Author of Eragon, Likes Harry Potter”.
Christopher Paolini: And I think it’s done a great deal in getting younger people interested in reading.
Quote:
Christopher Paolini: Well, Hermione is my favorite character, and I think the fourth book is my favorite book, because that’s of course the one where Voldemort comes back and to me it sounded like the story was about to enter more epic territory.
Quote:
Mike: Did you read the fifth one yet?
Christopher Paolini: I did, I read it in one day!
Quote:
Christopher Paolini: It was like a couple of weeks before the book was released, I went into my local library and they had some copies there… in advance!
Robby: Ooh, you got to read it ahead of time?
Christopher Paolini: No, I didn’t get to ahead of time… I begged to read it, but they wouldn’t let anyone touch them.
Quote:
Mike: Do you ever see Eragon becoming as popular as the Harry Potter series?
Christopher Paolini: Well, I hope so! I’d love to see that… I do think though that Harry Potter is an unduplicateable phenomenon. Even if Eragon became as big as Harry Potter, or bigger, it would be a different way because it definitely appeals to a slightly different audience.
