| | |  Equus closes June 9th, to go to Broadway summer 2008
It has been confirmed that the current run of Equus, starring Dan Radcliffe and Richard Griffiths, will close in London on June 9th. Both actors have agreed to reprise their roles for a run on Broadway in the summer of 2008 (when Half-Blood Prince will likely be in post-production). This will be followed by an Australian production (although nothing is said about whether the same performers will be involved in this). In the meantime, this summer the production will embark on a UK tour, with Richard Fleeshman taking over from Dan as Alan Strang. Quote:
In an interview in the Daily Mail, show producer David Pugh explained why he and his business partner Dafydd Rogers had decided against a West End extension: “We could have replaced Dan and Richard, but the thought of having to do a half-cocked production into the summer didn’t thrill us.”
