| | |  'Equus' casting complete
Actor Will Kemp has been cast to play Nugget the horse, the obsession of Dan Radcliffe’s character, in Equus. The actors playing horses will all don masks created by the original set designer, John Napier.
According to the play’s producer, David Pugh: Quote:
It'll create a vision of 7 ft to 8 ft horses on stage.
All casting for the play is now complete. Ticket sales have reached £600,000.
The play’s director, Thea Sharrock, had the following to say about Dan: Quote:
I want to have a very serious focus with Daniel and Richard before the room gets crowded. It's Daniel's first time on a dramatic stage. This isn't a vehicle created for Daniel. He auditioned and the best actor was picked. The fact that he also happens to be the actor who plays Harry Potter is beside the point. He and I have spent a lot of time examining the text because things are very different with a play than a movie.

They wear wire horse-head frames for masks, and special shoes with horseshoes on the bottoms so they sound like horses, too. It's awesome. It's even better because they usually have a wooden stage as well.

I wondered how this new version would show the horses! I know that guys wore masks in the original. That's good that Dan was the best actor, and that he didn't just get picked for being Mr. Harry Potter. I am also really excited about seeing Richard Griffiths though. Equus should be super fun!

Awesome! I really wish I could go see this play because it's looks absolutely amazing. The poster of Dan gave me the goosebups I must admit, but i'm sooooooooooo proud of him for doing this. I'm sure it's going to be an incredible production lol.

That is so true about a movie being different than a play, in a movie you can mess up as many times and do the scene over and over again to get it right, in a play, you CAN'T MESS UP! Anyways, good luck Daniel!  | |
