Emma Watson, who plays Hermione Granger in the Potter films will help switch on the Christmas lights in Oxford Street at Selfridges on Monday Novemeber 15th at 6pm. The event is sponsored by the
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban DVD release which is November 19th in the UK with the DVD Launch being on the 18th at the Honourable Society of Middle Temple, London.
The event is part of a show of support for London's bid to host the 2012 Olympics and Paralympic Games.
There will also be a Harry Potter themed light show running until January 5th. The lights will be accompanied by the Prisoner of Azkaban soundtrack with a finale of Harry casting the Patronus Charm.
A daily highlight will be a 2021 (8:12pm) lights display to show support for London's 2012 bid.
Five Olympic gold medallists will also attend the event including Sir Steve Redgrave and the Athens 4 x 100m Sprint Relay Squad.
There will also be a performance from Simon Cowell's new operatic vocal group Il Divo. The switch on of the lights will be hosted by Jono and Harriet from Heart 106.2
