Emma Watson, who plays Hermione Granger in the Potter films will help switch on the Christmas lights in Oxford Street at Selfridges on Monday Novemeber 15th at 6pm. The event is sponsored by the Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban DVD release which is November 19th in the UK with the DVD Launch being on the 18th at the Honourable Society of Middle Temple, London.

The event is part of a show of support for London's bid to host the 2012 Olympics and Paralympic Games.

There will also be a Harry Potter themed light show running until January 5th. The lights will be accompanied by the Prisoner of Azkaban soundtrack with a finale of Harry casting the Patronus Charm.

A daily highlight will be a 2021 (8:12pm) lights display to show support for London's 2012 bid.

Five Olympic gold medallists will also attend the event including Sir Steve Redgrave and the Athens 4 x 100m Sprint Relay Squad.

There will also be a performance from Simon Cowell's new operatic vocal group Il Divo. The switch on of the lights will be hosted by Jono and Harriet from Heart 106.2

Wow this is so cool they'll have a Harry Potter light show,wish they would have all this here.Hope Emma Watson dose not get an electric shock while doin this

I could say thats very early to be switching on the Christmas lights. I dont even put up my decorations until the middle of December. Do you think that it will be broadcasted on the tv? Or maybe even reported on the news, cause I think that I can remember Newsround doing a report on it last year. But I'm not that sure.

I hope we get pictures of it from fans who attend and visist these HP sites. I'd love to see that. I LOVE Christmas lights they put me in a good mood.

This is tooooo cool...... too bad i had to move to America and miss it!!!!! And by the way that is not early... in America they start putting Christmas decortations out the day after Halloween!!!

cool!! Emma is the best! i hope we see pics from this!! i absolutely love to see this..shoot i live in America--grrrrrrrr. i LOVE christmas lights--put that with Harry Potter and its complete heaven!! omg!!! i love christmas...i soo wish i could go!!
