| | |  Emma Watson launches ethical fashion label with People Tree (UPDATED)
Emma Watson has launched an ethical fashion label with People Tree, selling organic fashion and fair trade items aimed at people ages 16-24.
Of the project, Emma said: Quote:
"I wanted to help People Tree produce a younger range because I was excited by the idea of using fashion as a tool to alleviate poverty and knew it was something I could help make a difference with. It has been the most incredible gap year project."
"I think young people like me are becoming increasingly aware of the humanitarian and environmental issues surrounding fast fashion and want to make good choices but there aren't many options out there."
The line, which uses organic and fairly traded cotton, consists of clothes handmade by fair trade groups, creating jobs for disadvantaged people in Bangladesh, India and Nepal.

The line, which will include jersey T-shirts, dresses, woven skirts, trousers, shorts and knitwear for both men and women, will hit stores February 2010, and be available online. UPDATE: There is a new website specifically for Emma's collection, where you can sign up for e-mailed updates for the line, as well as purchase a catalogue for £2. There are also more details about other items that will be available besides just clothing. Quote:
