Emma Thompson says LA's not for me Article:
Thanks to Wizardnews
British movie actress Emma Thompson, soon to be featured in the upcoming movie Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, slammed Hollywood's fascination with outward beauty, citing it as the reason she's never wanted to live in Los Angeles.
The Oscar-winner is convinced she would have developed an obsession with looking beautiful if she'd have set up home in LA - and that would have killed her.
The 44-year-old says, "I would never have survived living in LA. I would have dieted myself into an early grave or had plastic surgery or Botox to keep up with my peers.
"But it's great to visit. They adore success and treat you like a star, but then I come home to London and have all the wind taken out of my sails. It's the perfect combination, really." |

Hmm, it must be a whole different place for actors and actresses then. Because Noelle and I drive up to LA a lot with our family, and we stay there for a while but I never feel that way there. Well, it would probably be much different if I lived there or something.

For some reason, I read "Emma Thompson" as "Emma Watson". When I got to the Oscar part, I was like "What???"
Then I saw the 44-year-old bit and re-read the title.

If your in the celebrity circle, it would be entirely different, thats what Emma is saying, keeping up with her peers.....
I love Emma's down to earth approach, thats what makes British Actresses the best, i.e Maggie Smith, Dame Judi Dench, Julie Walters, Julie Andrews, Joely Richardson etc... But then I would say that, Im British!
