Snitchseeker.com has just been informed by our official contact at Warner Brothers that 'nothing official has been announced' concerning the rumour that Elizabeth Hurley has been talking with Warner Brothers about playing the evil Azkaban escapee Bellatrix Lestrange in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
Basically this means that the rumor should be treated as just that, a rumor.
This is not to say that Ms. Hurley hasn't been approached by Warner Brothers, only that it is too soon to release any information. I would guess that they are talking to many, many actors at this point.

I have always pictured Bellatrix as a drop dead gorgeous witch that just went bad along the way...most popular girls are extremely pretty but they act like butts (not all of course!). She would be absolutely perfect for the role i think!

Well, in her defense, she made a very good devil in Bedazzled. Performing Bellatrix Lestrange shouldn't be too much a stretch, I'd think. ^.?.^ (<-- That's a squirrel.)

Elizabeth Hurley is far too pretty to play Bellatrix. And she doesn't look evil enough. I sincerely hope that she doesn't take the job, if it was offered to her. She's a great actress, but she's not right for the part.  | |

I never thought that she would be a good Bella, but now that I think of it, she would be OK. Not that I want her or anything, but I wouldn't be dissappointed if they chose her. Though, she is a little too 'popluar', if you like, to be in HP.

Like I said in a post before, she looks perfect for the role, but acting wise--no. There are better actors out there who could play Bellatrix.

She can't act. It's a simple as that.
HP reads like a Who's who of British actors. Hurley does not belong in that list.
Besides, having her kill Sirius would be an insult to his character and would turn the whole scene into one big fat joke. Hurley cannot be the one to kill Oldman.
End of.
