Nominations for the 2016 BAFTA film awards were announced Friday morning, where Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them's lead Eddie Redmayne got the Lead Actor nomination again, for his work in The Danish Girl, and Harry Potter alum Dame Maggie Smith and Julie Walters received recognition for their work in The Lady in the Van and Brooklyn respectively.

The EE British Academy Film Awards will take place on Sunday 14 February 2016 and will be held for the tenth year running at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden.

Also of note: as Redmayne was a winner at last year's Golden Globe awards, he is set to attend and present at this Sunday's event, where he is also nominated for his work in The Danish Girl. More coverage on that to come this weekend.
