Eddie Redmayne finally got the chance to speak out a bit about the upcoming
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them films this weekend, and confirmed that the British term for non-wizard, 'Muggle', will still be used in the first movie in addition to its American equal, 'No-Maj'.
Redmayne, who plays lead Newt Scamander, attended the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences screening of his upcoming movie,
The Danish Girl, in New York City this Saturday, and
commented briefly on the Harry Potter prequel saga.

Eddie Redmayne: Yeah, but they haven’t changed the word ‘muggle.’ This is the important thing, the word ‘muggle’ has not been changed, the word ‘muggle’ still exists. It’s just different nationalities. The word ‘muggle’ will definitely be in Fantastic Beasts, I can put it that way.
Redmayne admitted he was in New York for not even 24 hours, arriving on Saturday just to attend the screening, and heading right back to London this Sunday morning to continue
Fantastic Beasts production. He also mused about how finally got the chance to be in something attached to the Harry Potter franchise, especially given that, with his red hair, he was never brought on as a Weasley family member.
