| | |  'Driving Lessons' to be screened at Cannes Film Festival
Previously we reported that ' Driving Lessons' [Rupert Grint, Julie Walters] would receive its North American premiere on April 30th at the Tribeca Fim Festival in Manhattan. Dates, locations and times for specific screenings of this movie can be found here. Quote:
Festival Screening - Sun, April 30th - 8:30PM - PACE - 1 Pace Plaza (Spruce b/t Park Row & Gold)
Festival Screening - Mon, May 1st - 9:30pm - TC2 54 Varick Street (below Canal Street, at Laight Street) New York, NY 10013
Festival Screening - Sat, May 6th - 10:00pm - AMC 68th Street-01 - 1998 Broadway at 68th Street
Additionally the site lists ' Driving Lessons' as one of the movies to be screened at the Cannes Film Festival which will take place between May 17th - 28th. Tartan Films also announced that they have acquired all UK and Ireland rights to the film. Quote:
"Driving Lessons is a wonderful, beautifully made and very commercial British feature film and we look forward to releasing it in the UK and Ireland this year," said Laura DeCasto, managing director of Tartan Films.
Content Film International is representing remaining worldwide rights.

I'm so excited about DL! This is such great news. Tribeca *and* Cannes, all at once, is huge because they're both huge film festivals, especially the Cannes where films really get noticed!
As for it coming to the US... Tribeca is a US filmfestival, so most likely. And with it going to the Cannes, it'll get recognition. I hope Rupert goes as well. Because that should be around the time they're off from filming. | |

I'd say that gives it an amazing shot to be viewed everywhere in the world.
