Devon Murray to reprise Seamus Finnigan role in Deathly Hallows

Actor Devon Murray has been under scrutiny from thieves lately, who have been trying to steal his copy of the Deathly Hallows script (thus confirming that he will reprise his role as Seamus Finnigan in the final Harry Potter films).

Quote:

Murray, who has won a legion of fans as Seamus Finnegan in the series, told the Herald that film bosses were forced to move the priceless script to a safe house following fears that it would be stolen and leaked.

The 20-year-old Dubliner explained how the film chiefs stepped in after several break-in attempts from thieves hoping to steal the storylines from his family home in Kildare.

"It just wasn't safe to keep it there, as there was so much hype surrounding the new storylines, so they now use a safe house for the script," he said.
Devon talks about how the fans have treated him when he visited the US for the Prisoner of Azkaban premiere five years back:

Quote:

"It's more when I go to America that they go mad for anyone connected with the movie. It was also crazy when we did a promotional tour in Japan, I must have shook hands with about two million people during that trip alone, it was mental," he continued.
He also spoke about a time when he and co-star Emma Watson were allowed to go on a shopping spree in Harrods in London:

Quote:

"We were allowed to just grab whatever we wanted so I took all these designer jeans, but I didn't bother even trying them on so none of them fit properly!" he explained.
Devon mentions that he unfortunately has never read any of the Harry Potter books:
Quote:

Yet, despite becoming an international star, he confessed he "hasn't read a single one" of the JK Rowling books and is content to just concentrate on the scripts.
Finally, Devon talks about how outgoing co-star Dan Radcliffe is in real life:

Quote:

"He's totally wired," he laughed. "He's a great man to go for a night out with as he loves partying and is up for anything. He's great craic [fun]."
The article also states that Devon will start filming Deathly Hallows in October and expects to be working on it for approximately six months.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will be released November 19, 2010 and July 15, 2011.

craic is the Irish Gaelic word for good fun, basically. Craic is used quite liberally in their language. There is some misinterpretation by Americans because it sounds like "crack," so if something is "great craic," it is loads of fun, not the alternative spelling!!

Never read any of the books?! Naughty!

It's insane how people are so desperate to leak the DH script. If it came online, I wouldn't read it.

Good to hear that Devon's coming back!

Good for you, Devon, coming back. But Dan... partying...? That doesn't sound right... Ah well.

harita 05-18-2009 06:55 PM

cool...how can anyone resist to read these books...and what is this about the storylines getting sneaked off and them making it to the safehouse?

cherbear09 05-18-2009 07:07 PM

Prongz82 05-18-2009 07:10 PM

I am so pist off. He never read a HARRY POTTER BOOK!!! He shouldn't even be playing Seamus. I feel like my heart just been broken...lol (a lil too dramatic) but still omg I think all the actors for Harry Potter has read the books but him. Well it was honest as someone else commented.

Anum 05-18-2009 08:02 PM

yeh its pretty sad that he hasnt read any of the books...oh well, he does make a good Seamus...glad he's gonna be back!! :D

I'd have thought that Alfie Enoch would be renewed sooner than Devon, seeing as Dean has the bigger role of the two in the final two movies.

Here's hoping that it happens.

DuckyLinJi 05-18-2009 08:46 PM

love the Daniel comment and crazy japanese people!! (atleast they are cool haha) and i think its funny how alot of the actors have not read the books!

TheatreActress 05-18-2009 09:34 PM

yay!! he's pretty good at Seamus' character, it'd be a pity for him not to get to reprise it again.

RedheadQueen 05-18-2009 09:43 PM

glad he is coming back!! and I think he just meant Dan has a good time, probably not like hard partying! and I am kinda sad he hasn't read the books, but at least he was honest and I hope Alfie is back bc he is a great Dean!

Ginny GL 05-18-2009 10:09 PM
